| - I returned to this salon a few days ago to get a shellac manicure.
I had just taken my gel nails off and as a result, my normally "pretty strong but not tough as nails strong" nails were thin, bending, splitting, breaking, all of it.
My remedy is always to do shellac and let the thinned nail grow out and let the stronger nails come in.
So off I went. I arrived around 7, half an hour before closing and was seated almost immediately. I chose Marshmallow again with a gold glittery accent nail.
The woman that did my nails was older than the rest of them, supposedly the owner perhaps? She was very thorough in the prep and I definitely appreciated her careful approach to my nubs.
When it came time for gel application, I admit I wasn't too happy. She did two to three coats but it still managed to be streaky on some nails. You could see the patches on my nails. The gold was fine, marshmallow not so much.
Seeing as it was late, I didn't fuss and still paid her for staying a few minutes after closing to finish (I admit, getting dressed in your winter coat while I'm still there was slightly off putting.) I paid $28.
I can't remember how long it's been but I want to say a week and a half in that three nails have already chipped.
This was a bit of a letdown. Will I return? Most likely because I loved it so much the first time around, but it goes without saying that you should always come earlier and long before close!
