Very happy with dinner experience at Monterey Bay tonight. The atmosphere is elegant and romantic with an awesome view from Mount Washington. The service was superb and our fish cooked to perfection. Valet parking only, cost $7. Coat check service. Menu a la carte.
We started with their special appetizer and holiday cocktails. The snowstorm mojito had a delicious coconut and mint flavor and was like starting dinner with a dessert! The appetizer special was perfect for sharing. My favorite part was hands down the crab cake and next time I'll definitely be getting that as an appetizer or an entree! For entrees we chose the barramundi and red snapper. Both cooked to perfection with the coconut macadamia crusted option and pina colada sauce. If you like a sweet dish, this style of cook is for you! For a side, we had the fried brussel sprouts. After cocktails, appetizer, salad and entrees, we unfortunately had no room for dessert!
I highly recommend Monterey Bay Fish Grotto for any seafood lover! Portions were large and we were not disappointed! It is a pricier place but well worth it. Our bill with tip was $200 which included 1 appetizer, soup, salad, 2 cocktails, 2 entrees and 1 side.
