| - The Christmas light show is basically 3 hours in a line of never ending cars; once you're in, there is no turning back. It's $20 of a waste of time. The lights weren't even that great, I've seen better decorated houses! Also, their station only plays 3 songs.
That said, getting to the lights is a whole different thing. There really should be a warning about the line, just when you think you made it to the toll gate to pay, you realize that the line is longer than it was when you first came in and waited over an hour. Yeah, they have a whole field made up of about 15 winding lanes that you have to sit in to get to the actual entrance of the speedway. I naively thought this would have been a pretty efficient event, but it's just made up of long lines, then longer lines, then even longer lines that seem to never end.
Had they had an exit, I would have taken it and eaten the $20, but that wasn't even an option. We drove through the gates at 7:45pm and reached the winter village at 11:15pm; the whole reason we came in the first place was to go to the winter village and when we reached it, it was obviously too late to go, so basically our entire ordeal was for nothing. By the time we got home, we had been in the car for 5 hours straight.
For those of you with young children, don't put your child or yourself through this experience!!! I was unfortunate in my decision and had to deal with a screaming 2 year old for 5 hours in the car and I'm 8 months pregnant. They have barely any bathrooms and even if you had to go like I did, you will want to hold it or face the 1 Porto-potty on the field of the never ending line of cars. This was a horrible horrible experience for my family and I will never go again.
