| - I want Ikea, but this will have to do. That's my review in a little sentence nutshell.
Granted, if you are looking for the finest in contemporary furniture or furniture that is NOT made in China, perhaps this is not the place for you. However, after braving the brutal landscape of furniture shopping in Las Vegas, I have decided this is the best all around option in terms of selection and pricing. My general approach to furniture is that I will probably get tired of it, so I am not concerned about passing it down to the grandkids or anything. At Walker, there is something for everyone at just about every price point, unless, like I said, you want the finest Italian couch. (Note: We did splurge on our couch, but we made that purchase at Macy's Home Store.)
We purchased our dining table and chairs and a full-sized bunk bed from Walker, and it was relatively painless. Granted, furniture shopping today is as delightful as shopping for a car because you have salespeople stalking you around the showroom, but just expect that going in.
Also, the first delivery bunch were borderline hooligans. They broke a piece of the table, so we didn't accept delivery. When the replacement table came, a different set of guys were on the job, and they were top-notch.
Like I said, it isn't glamorous; it isn't Ikea, but Walker Furniture is generally my first stop when I am in the market for furniture.
