Great theater space for professional small-scale productions in the Distillery District.
I've seen two shows here now in their large venue and in their smaller venue. They're both very nice venues with great sight lines, good stage design, and high quality productions. This is one of the better places to come to see local theater in Toronto and it feels a bit higher class, although maybe less experimental than the Tarragon Theater. The lobby is bright, modern, and inviting.
I saw an interesting take on the Barber of Seville, as an example. It was entirely in English. Acting was very done with a great use of the small theater space. The signing itself was a bit dicey and problematic for a few of the characters, so it wasn't the highest quality production I've seen.
The location in the Distillery District is great with lots of interesting (and over-priced) stores to visit and a few restaurants. Transit is probably a two or three step process to get here.
