A scoop of Fenik's custard is a creamy, luscious treat. I finally visited earlier this year after being tormented with pictures of yummy custard by one of my fellow Yelpers. On my most recent visit I was offered a sample of the pumpkin and after the sample, I couldn't say no to a full scoop. The flavor was like a cool blended pumpkin pie which was perfect on a temperate fall day. I also love their Coconut Avalanche. I'm not even a huge coconut lover, but the soft coconut custard dotted with bits of dark chocolate and perfectly toasted almonds is outstanding. I appreciate the fact that their custard is bursting with flavor, which I don't necessarily find to always be true for another very popular custard chain in Cleveland.
The shop has a bench or two outside and a nice amount of seating inside. Think retro red bar stools and black and white checkered floors. They also have a list of their Flavor of the Week posted on the wall and available in flyer form, so you can be sure to pop in when your favorite is in rotation!
Fenik's is a little out of the way for me, but I make sure to stop in whenever I'm doing some shopping in the area. It's worth the effort to get there! I do wish that they weren't cash only, as carrying cash is less and less common these days, but that won't deter me from coming back. The service is hit and miss when the younger employees are working, but the woman who served me on my last visit was warm and pleasant.
