  • I'm a graduate student and I went to Staples to have a paper printed and bound professionally. This is the second time I have used Staples and both times I have had issues. The other issue was another location. I uploaded my PDF through Staples' website and selected my options. I guess since I had to leave one star for the review, they get that for having my order completed pretty fast. The rest was a nightmare. I approached the man at the copy and print center and let him know that I had an order to pick up. After searching for about a minute, he tried to tell me that I received an order confirmation. No, I had an email saying it was ready to pick up. I'm in graduate school and can read. I received a complete attitude from this man from the beginning and never once did I raise my voice at him. Although I don't have retail experience, I understand that it can be frustrating and I was patient. He eventually found my book and I paid for it. I walked out of the store and when I got outside, I flipped through it some more. My logic models were cut off and printed vertically when I sent them in horizontally. I went back into the store and this time a young woman helped me. She was very pleasant and I just explained the issue. I figured it was no big deal and that they could just print the pages in the correct format. She agreed that it was possible. The same man who rang me up and gave me the project came over and the attitude came out once again. He told her that he already helped me and she explained the issue. He told me right away there was nothing they could do to help me. Excuse me? I paid $15 and this PDF was sent in the EXACT way I wanted it done. This is when I started to snap at him because I have to send this to my professor in the mail at the out of state university I attend. I shouldn't have to tell an employee to make things right. They told me that it would be 3 hours to reprint 5 pages! As a bus rider, this means I have to either wait around 3 hours or go home and have to go back into the heat. I ended up doing the second option because I didn't have anywhere to go. When I came back to Staples, they STILL didn't have the pages printed in the horizontal format. Although the lady was nice and professional to me, it was difficult getting them to print them off correctly. She finally did this separately and I was able to get the book. I lost an entire DAY dealing with Staples and the heat. Please, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you need stuff printed. Staples hasn't responded to this issue in what I consider acceptable. I just received an email saying it would be dealt with in the store. How about calling me up and apologizing for how your employee acted and all the time I wasted getting them to do their job? Is that hard?
