rev:text	Short version: Shiva is incredible. Highly recommended. I'm a regular at Solo (my favorite coffee shop in Tempe, btw). When it came time for a trim - I've been looking rather wookie-like - I decided that I wanted to give the new barbershop a try. I talked to Keefer, my regular barista who works at both establishments, about whom I should choose to cut my hair. He gave me a good run down of the different stylists and what they were good at. Based on that, I chose Shiva. I'm a South American 20-something male with curly/wavy black hair. Let me start by saying that he is fantastic and that I love what he did. It's not just the final result that I am a fan of - I thought his process was excellent. Like most stylists, we started talking about what I wanted to do. Unlike most stylists, he spent the next few minutes poking around my hair, exploring it, getting to know it, figuring out what to do and putting some thought into it. I had given him some broad parameters to work within but emphasized that I trusted his judgment of what was best. Trust his judgment. In addition to giving a very good cut that took into account how my hair grows, he was thoughtful in his selection of shampoo and product. He also gave me various snippets of knowledge and tips throughout. Highly recommended. The new Solo-Altered Ego merge takes some getting used to, but I think it's actually pretty great. It would be even better if the "coffee shop" portion extended more into the original salon so that there's more seating and more of a feeling of it being one establishment.
