| - I hate to say it, but this place was over-hyped for me.
It's Memorial Day weekend and my friends and I walk in on Sunday morning for brunch. A DJ is present and playing pretty good 90's Hip Hop and R&B, just what we like. We are actually impressed that there's an actual DJ, lol.
The ambience in here is on the more upscale side of casual. It's very cute. Bougie decor. Great for pictures. Located right in the heart of The Gramercy.
We are seated promptly and our server is very attentive. My girlfriend orders bottomless mimosas, a pork chile omelette, and chicken flautas. I order the special tiger shrimp omelette with a Caribbean sidecar (this drink has Hennessy privilege in it with sweet simple syrup... so good), and my friend's husband orders the fried jerk chicken and waffles.
1) Our server spilled my drink on the table and a bit on myself and on my belongings. He was very sorry, however, and continued to clean it all up.
2) My girlfriend got the wrong food delivered to our table. So that had to be fixed.
3) My omelette was very bland. Not enough shrimp, not enough Hollandaise sauce, the potatoes had zero flavor. I was not very impressed by my meal. I was more impressed with the appetizer of the chicken flautas, to be honest.
Will I give this place another chance? Maybe. But I think I would like to come back for lunch or dinner with better options for entrees. I feel like my meal was not satisfying. I would def like to come back for bottomless mimosas.
