I haven't been to the state capitol since I was in 7th or 8th grade. Back then it seemed bigger! I came with my family and we started to explore the capitol by ourselves and ended up joining a free tour group towards the end of the tour. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and told us things we didn't know about the capitol. We got to visit the Supreme Court room and the room where the state of the state is given. We learned some facts though the art and architecture. The architecture is amazing! The dome reminded me a lot of the national dome in D.C. Someone told me you are allowed to go outside around the dome during warmer weather. Much like D.C., the city radiates out around the capitol. It was nice to see history and feel a bit closer to the state of Wisconsin and test our trivia knowledge. The outside is also beautiful at night.
