I feel like I am finally (thankfully) at a point in my life where I would rather spend the extra money and buy high quality furniture that will last. I have owned a bed and desk from IKEA and neither stood up to the test of time that well. On the othr hand, my IKEA dresser has made it through several moves and still looks like it is in brand new condition. We also own two bookcases that have stayed together pretty well.
For home accessories, I also think IKEA has some great deals. I'm getting married soon and recently bought 80 candles and holders for our centerpieces for $40.
My real peeve with IKEA is the store itself. It's just too overwhelming, crowded, and makes me hate people.
