  • The ROM came up with a very brilliant way to entice young patrons into its fold: Open up the exhibits and Have a party atmosphere with drinks and a dj in the main foyer (of course, drinks in the gallery a no no - think of the damages!) You pay a nominal fee ($10) if you are not a member, endure a long lineup that covers the corner of Bloor and Avenue, and another one to pay the cover charge, and then some more for those ROM bucks and voila - party in style with art. After all, club kids were stylemakers at one point. The crowd is young. If the ROM membership people are savvy, they will find a way to add these young ones to the YPC. All in all, it's a fun Friday evening and a win for the ROM.
