My usual Irish Pub hang out in Charlotte is Ri-Ra, but I forgot that they are still repairing the place after a fire, so I went around the corner to Connolly's. Now this will sound like a criticism, but I don't mean it that way, but... this is not a Pub, it is a bar. Which is fine, unless you are looking for a Pub. So, what is the difference? To me the biggest difference is that a Pub has a kitchen and more than just wings and cheese sticks and Connolly's does not. I didn't venture upstairs, so maybe I am speaking too quickly. Anyway... dark and smoky this is a bar. But hey, they serve Guinness and Red Breast Irish Whiskey, so why should I complain?... I got pizza later anyway.
