| - I was in town for five days staying at a resort down the street, so this was the fitness option. I have belonged to 24-Hour Fitness in Kansas City before, so I kind of knew what to expect. I will start with the positive. The staff is wonderful! They are professional, friendly, and helpful. The selection of cardio and weight equipment is also outstanding. Oh. Wait. Almost every single piece of cardio equipment I attempted to use (treadmills and elipticals) was malfunctioning in one way or another. Audio for tv was messed up, incline selector didn't work, workout selectors didn't work, etc. This is not an exaggeration. . .on Saturday evening, I got on six treadmills before I found one with a working incline selector and tv audio doohickey. As I ran, I saw SIX "out of order" signs on cardio equipment. No signs were on all the treadmills I tried. The outstanding selection is not so great when the majority of the machines need maintenance of some kind. I would have a huge problem with this if I were a member. Overall, though, I was able to get a decent workout in every visit (5) , so I will keep it in perspective. They also have a decent lap pool.
