| - This was mine and a friends place to lay our heads for 4 nights of our group trip to Vegas! I arrived an hour prior to check out time and went up to the check in desk and the gentleman was able to accommodate my early arrival, gave me a choice of which floor we wanted to be on in the ivory tower, gave me passes to the ghost bar/wifi password and 5 minutes later, I was in our room. I was in the room for 10 minutes when there was a knock at the door and it was a manager of maid service checking to make sure that we had everything we needed and asked if she could bring us anything else.
I opened the door to our room and immediately took note of how spacious the accommodations were, adorned with contemporary furniture, flat screen tv, nice desk area with plenty of outlets, large wardrobe, minimal drawer space, mini fridge/snacks, full length mirror, large bathroom and a beautiful mountain view. The bed, oh my gosh, that bed and the blankets were so comfortable that you felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. There were also hook ups on the wall for gaming consoles, your computer monitor or HDMI so you don't have to mess with plugging it into the tv. The room smelled so good but sort of like a man's cologne that I remember from back in the day. We especially loved the chaise lounge style chair after a long day on the strip because it really helped to ease any back pressure by sitting on it.
You can't walk to the strip from here so you will need to take a cab, uber or take their complimentary shuttle which runs from 11am-8pm and drops off at the valet area (bottom of the escalator) of Ceaser's Palace Forum Shops. The shuttle line is right next to the cab line in front of the Palms entry doors. It is complimentary but, we made sure to tip the driver on all of our rides. Also an uber ride to the strip was about $8.00 if you don't want to wait. The drop off/pick up/valet area in front can get really busy but there is employees standing out there assisting people and you can also arrange for a limo or other nicer car service through them on the spot. There are also heaters to stand buy if it is cold.
The casino isn't huge but, we did play some tables and slots (didn't win) but, it was enjoyable to pass some time. There are 5 star restaurants, GhostBar, a boutique, spa, casual dining, etc. We had two encounters with the concierge; the first was because we wanted to request a couple extra dry cleaning bags and the second was when I checked out on Monday morning but, my flight didn't leave until Monday night and I inquired about leaving my bag at the hotel. They graciously kept my bag and gave me a ticket for when I came back to claim it. When I came back to retrieve my bag the same gentleman was there and promptly brought it out and I gave him a tip and thanked him. He inquired as to if I had already made arrangements for a ride and offered to assist me outside with my bag/to arrange a ride. I had already requested an uber so, I declined but, this level of service/willingness to go above and beyond should be noted.
We ordered room service for breakfast on our last morning there and it came quicker than the time that was quoted. We did standard eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns, juice and coffee. It came on a white tablecloth cart that fit perfectly between the two beds. That was well thought out! Also, the food was delicious and if you order the carafe of coffee it is enough for about 6 cups or so. We also appreciated the little glass jelly containers, syrup, ketchup and a bucket of ice with a scoop (they really thought of everything you may/may not need). The flower was a nice touch and you just call down to have them come remove it from your room or from the hallway when you are done.
The only reason I didn't give my review 5 stars is because the hallways smelled like smoke, the lights in the bathroom were inadequate and made you look greenish/yellow which wasn't great when you were trying to put your make up on and when daily maid service came they never refilled coffee cups, coffee or packets with coffee accompaniments.
I found this hotel to be not only classy but well maintained and the pricing was lower than I would have paid for such high level service and such a comfortable/swanky room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
