One of my friends raved about SoHo and suggested we meet here to catch up. If you must know, I've been keeping a close eye on restaurant hygiene after a few unpleasant creepy-crawly incidents in Chinatown over the summer which allowed me to notice that the place was spotless, simple and minimally decorated. The last time we went, they seemed to be short on staffed so we did not really mind them taking a while on the orders.
What they lacked for in their service that day, they made up for in their food. I ordered the seared tuna salad, a little pricey for greens at first glance but you would soon understand why. It is served as a bundle of microgreens with a special citrusy dressing, tuna sashimi seared perfectly to crispiness on its sides and sprinkled with deep fried onion pieces. I was in salad heaven! For such a healthy serving of vegetables, it does not fail to impress and I just had to go back again earlier this afternoon to order the exact same thing!
On the other hand, my friend ordered the tonkatsu curry - my usual bento favorite - from the lunch specials and she had great things to say. It came with miso soup, a small bowl of vegetables and rice. (For options such as salmon teriyaki, an order also comes with edamame and a delicious garlic sauce). They closely rival the bento boxes at RA on the Strip in portion size and price but SoHo clearly has a larger pool of options for lunch which makes it a more attractive spot. Can't go wrong with all these 4-5 star reviews!
