| - We moved to Las Vegas 7 months ago and were told that the arts district was burgeoning. We love First Friday and will hit the 5th Fridays occasionally too.
This gallery was mentioned to us but it was not until we actually joined a friend exhibiting some of her work that we spent an evening here.
The place is in a little house with a yard full of buses they use for outreach art events throughout the city. We met Roz who is an art teacher with a passion for replacing art in a world where classes are being cut left and right.
Go to the website and read her story on video. Her non profit is aimed at giving all ages exposure to culture, art history and methods. I really was amazed at the variety of items.
Unique pottery, paintings in all media on all types of boards, paper, canvas, paintings that make a statement to beautiful gigantic birds, accessories made of every kind of found object, hair pieces, posters, portraits, prints of paintings, and items I cannot even describe- they are so unusual.
The parking in this area is normally fair but if you go on First Friday get here early. A Saturday was not too bad- we got there around 5pm and parked right on the side.
Prices are very reasonable.
If you are an artist you definitely will feel a great vibe- show your work to Roz! If you are a visitor, you will be warmly appreciated. This is a non profit so be aware that Roz is extremely busy and does not have a staff of thousands- but your patience will pay off. I am headed back soon for a very simple face portrait and a tiny bird painting.
