| - The Weary Traveler is Madison, Wisconsin. That is an odd statement, but perfectly true.
It is part bar, which is requisite on account of this being a state that is very much about beer. The bar is a real bar. Not old-timey, not fashionable-hip, but a conglomerate of 20-80-somethings with unusual eyewear and hairdos, sitting around talking about the academe, but quite sincerely. The food is real bar food. Not a bowl of nachos. Not an ashtray of pretzels. Bar food as in the kind of food you might find in a bona fide Irish pub, you know, in Ireland. You can get nicely browned chicken with mashed taters there. Burgers. It's a short menu, but a real menu. You can definitely eat a good meal at the Weary.
Word to the wise - don't bring kids here. It's really crowded and no place for strollers or binkies. It's a place for grownups, young and old. You can't help but like it.
