| - Brought my 04 Tacoma in to get a MAPECU3 installed and dyno tuned. Lifted, wheels, tires, bumper, supercharger, 7th injector kit, headers, intake, exhaust, rockin stereo, etc, she's my baby! Made sure they knew what they were installing before I brought it in, they assured me they could do it. Brought it in before for a check engine light, which they fixed, figured they could handle it, due to their amazing reviews. At first they couldn't get it to save the tuning file, the computer kept losing the tune, and they couldn't figure out why. After a week of that, they said it was ready. I get there, and it's still on the dyno, and it's completely undriveable due to being too lean one second, too rich the next. They didn't know why it was behaving that way. So they were doing full throttle runs going lean, rich, and pinging. The next week, they said it was ready. I asked if they contacted the manufacturer of the MAPECU3, they said no, but instead read the installation instructions, and figured out that they were tuning it completely incorrectly. This shocked me, but whatever, they figured it out, yay! I pay the $1,944 ($150 was for a tie rod). I get two miles down the road and it starts freaking out, and became undriveable. Limped back, and they wanted to take another look to see if there "was anything they missed". I said ok, but on the drive home I got to thinking, what if I'm going through the mountains, and my engine blows up because they "missed something else", so I called and told them that with all the missteps (over the 3 weeks that they had it), that I had no confidence they would be able to finish, and asked them to just take it out, and make it like this disaster never happened. Asked for a refund, and was told how they did so much work for free, and how they fixed codes that were present before I brought it in, and its not their fault I wouldn't let them fix it. Um, no, they already 'fixed' those! I figured he'd at least give me a partial refund, but nope. This is the last of the compact pickups, and she's my baby! I didn't want to risk blowing it up because they couldn't handle a Toyota. I would have thought they would chalk it up to customer satisfaction, cost of doing business, and the training experience for their employees. Guess not.
