I took my car to Service King on Puritas per Allstate's recommendation last week. I was rear ended by someone in a gold Ford Focus (hit and run) and would not be getting my deductible back. I asked Craig to check for structural damage, once all I could see were a few scratches. By the time I had a phone call from them, the car was already in paint and repairs were already made. They never went over an estimate with me or told me what exactly needed repair before beginning work. When I went to pick up the car, I realized that they had only repaired cosmetic damage and charged over $700 total to repaint my whole bumper. When I spoke to Craig and the manager Ron, they told me that since I had told them they could work on my car, that I was responsible for whatever work they did. When I asked them why I did not receive a phone call, they said that they saw that there was no call to go over an estimate in their system, and that that must have happened because my car was only in the shop for a couple of days. When I contacted Allstate and had them talk to the shop. Ron outright lied and told them that they HAD CALLED ME BUT DID NOT UPDATE IT IN THE SYSTEM. This shop WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU of they know they can get away with it. Does the bumper look nice? Sure. Would I have ever asked them to fix a couple of scratches already knowing that I was going to pay my deductible? NEVER. Take a minute and research your other options if you are going to have to pay for work out of pocket. Not cool guys. Not cool.
*update: there was a comment here that I would be notified by the team at service king to address my issues. I was never contacted :(
