| - Protect America is arguably the worst security company you could possibly hire. We had every issue you can think off with them. Equipment failing, their techs not knowing how to install equipment, extra siren not working since their tech sent us the wrong resistor to install, list goes on from the technical standpoint.
From the security standpoint: absolutely useless. They use third party monitoring centers and do not own any patrol cars.
We live in a verified response neighborhood, (in which police won't respond to house alarms). Protect America charges us a fee every month for their "private patrol service". It ends up that it is not their patrol, they again hire a third party service for this, and Protect America employees don't even know who is responsible for coming to our home. This third party company took 1h 45m to respond to our alarm, and left a photocopied paper with a fake internet downloaded "security guard" sign paper, with no info whatsoever on the company. Laughable, if not for the fact that we get charged for it.
All they care about is to take your money, you can't get out of their airtight contract (it's all they actually seem to have spent time designing), doesn't matter if you move or if your system doesn't work or anything. Oh, and even if you pay the entire contract off (which is the only way of getting rid of this scammers), your equipment ends up in the thrash, they won't take it back nor they are worth a dime or are useful to resell to someone. You'll end up with literally a grand worth of equipment in the trash.
All you can do is transfer your contract and equipment to a "friend" so Protect America can keep taking your money.
I wouldn't recommend this company to an enemy, make yourself a favor and look for either a company without this long term scam contracts, a company with real 24/7 support OWNED by the company or a company that OWNS their patrol cars like ADT so you know that someone will actually show up instead of paying 40 bucks a month for just getting a notification on your phone that you're being robbed and there's nothing you can do about it.
A pathetic company, infuriating to have to keep throwing money at them even while my system is in a box in the garage.
I almost consider going to collection so at least they have to do some paperwork or pay a lawyer......
