  • I am writing you because I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the service I received from Progressive after my accident. When my car was returned the first time, I complained because there was a noise coming from the right side of my car (the side hit in the accident and had been "completely" repaired). It sounded like a popping noise and metal rubbing together, I brought my car back to the service center, it was sent back to the mechanic and upon my vehicles return I was told the mechanic could not find anything wrong and I would have to pay a dealership to do a diagnostic and then only if the dealership told Progressive that it was accident related would it be covered and possibly the cost of the diagnostic. Which did not make any sense to me because the noise was coming from the side I was hit on and it was not making that noise before the accident or at the sense of the accident. I continued to drive my car while I saved to pay additional money for a diagnostic from a dealership. A few weeks go by and the noise has intensified and was constant, there was a new additional noise being made every time I put the vehicle in reverse. I called your 1800 number and explained that there is something wrong and the Progressive Representative told me "your car does not sound like it is safe to be driving please bring it back to the center for repairs." With a sigh of relief I do just that upon arrival my car is driven by an employee they acknowledge that the sound is not right and there is something wrong, then proceed to tell me there is nothing they can or would be willing to do and I have to take it to a dealership because the mechanic will not find anything wrong. I was floored, to say the least, how could the mechanic not find something wrong the car screeches and makes noise whenever in motion. Also an employee of Progressive told me to bring the car back for repairs!! I left infuriated I took my car in for an oil change to Big O Tires and asked them to take a look while they were working on it and guess what... MAGICALLY they found something! My rear right brake pad was badly damaged due to "scrap metal" being wedged in it and the rotor was broken due the extreme damage from the metal. $300 dollars later Big O was able to replace the rotor and brake pad and my car is like new. I find it unacceptable that your "mechanic" was not able to figure that out forcing me to pay an additional $300 dollars for my car to be fixed. Not to down play the employees of Big O Tires but if they can figure out this issue that your mechanic said didn't exist, it may be time to send your customers cars to someone new and step it up! I cannot even give the benefit of the doubt that everyone makes mistakes because when my car was returned the very first time there was a MASSIVE crack in my windshield that required me to take it back in, that was the free pass. For this accident I had to take my car back 4 times due to this being handled poorly, I was lead to believe that customer service was something Progressive prided itself on. That is not something that I experienced at all. I would like to know if I will be reimbursed for the rotor and brake pads that I had to pay to be replaced after my accident repairs. I feel like I should receive a reimbursement due to the fact I tried twice to have your "mechanic" fix this issue and my rotor would not have had to be replaced if it was taken care of when I took it back the first time.
