  • I'm updating this review solely as a response to AZFCU's response to my initial review. It is their response that downgrades them to 1 star, and has now put changing credit unions on the table. I think whoever delegated the task of responding to Yelp reviews ought to reconsider their choice. Firstly, they addressed their closing of the Desert Ridge with a backhanded apology in the form of : "We understand it can be concerning when the location nearest to you closes - especially so soon after you became a member here - and apologize if the letters and emails we sent did not reach you" A proper apology doesn't include an opportunity to save face by mentioning that you sent me letters about the closing branch and thereby insinuating something like "it's not like we didn't tell you about it". Apology not accepted. I never got any notice in any form. I challenge you to provide me with proof of mailing of those letters. Secondly, notice how the responder glosses over the issue of the initial 60-day blackout on remote deposits, WHICH IS LIKELY TO BE INCONVENIENT FOR MANY NEW CUSTOMERS. AZFCU, if you're going to respond, then bring a proper response that addresses ALL of the noted concerns. FInally, I'll supplement my original post by offering Yelp readers and potential AZFCU customers another word of warning:(in case AZFCU's haphazard attempt at a response isn't repellent enough): If you're a couple who wants to maintain separate accounts, have a joint account, and link them all together, then prepare to waste an hour of your Saturday signing you name umpteen times and listening to endless disclosures. IT LITERALLY TOOK AN HOUR. I'm not kidding. It was the most convoluted banking procedure we ever witnessed. My thanks to whomever wrote that reply. In trying to defend AZFCU, you ended up giving credibility to my original advice: LOOK ELSEWHERE TO HANDLE YOUR BANKING NEEDS.
