  • Breakdown on why I believe this timeshare gets 2 stars. I bought the timeshare in March 2017 and after reading these reviews I felt I was scammed as well. However, I decided to hold my review until I can understand the full benefit of what I bought. After the sales presentation; which was ok, we were escorted to a lobby to have a sit down with our sales person. After our questions were answered we felt this might just work for us and decided to buy. Especially when our salesman kept saying "when he wants to go on vacation he just calls the 844- Sapphire number and there he goes." (more to come on this story) I spent $8995 plus the $252 annual fee for the perpetual (lifetime) timeshare vs the 45-year (Master) plan which would have been cheaper - Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware)--I felt buyer's remorse within the 5-day rescission period. However; I stuck it out, since I am looking at this as an addition to our vacation we take once a year. So today I decided to book a room in California in the Orange County area and found out that the nearest location would be either Oceanside or Palm Springs and since I only have 5000 points I can only book my days within the 30-day period. If I wanted 60 days out I would have to pay an additional $299. I thought no worries, since I have RCI-exchange as an option I asked to be transferred. The exchange fee for using RCI with the 5000 points was around $229 (I think). They didn't have any openings around the area until September, which would be outside my 30 to 60 days booking requirement. (No rentals were available as well). So, we checked for hotels and the discount prices are very similar to expedia, trivago, or other major sites. So, like everyone else I was lied to as well when my salesman kept saying, "when he wants to go on vacation he just calls the 844- Sapphire number and there he goes." Looking at the cup as half full and remembering why I bought this package, we've decided that this will be used for those vacation places we would never thought to visit and help us explore other parts of the country instead of just California. With that being said, if you are using this as a second getaway to location you know you would never venture to than this is a great buy. Otherwise, you will have a hard time with paying that much cash to only go on vacation when they have availability. As I mentioned earlier, this has to be looked at as a second vacation and your hotel suite stay will still be your primary. I highly recommend go for the gifts and think real hard if this vacation/timeshare package will work for you. If not, just tell them it doesn't get your free stuff and go about your business. Pros -take a second vacation to somewhere we would probably would not visit Cons--will take over 15 years before breakeven point comes into play. Hard to get the dates and places if it is in a high demand area. I would recommend just staying at a hotel suite. Hope this helps.
