| - This review is for the venue, not the performances.
First, a review of the jazz club: The venue is fantastic. If there's any complaint it would it's too new and too nice for a jazz club - no patina of decades of smokey jazz on the surfaces. The room is large with no crowding of the seating. Not a bad seat in the room, except for perhaps the second level near the stage where you're next to the speakers. Beverage service is limited (no free tap water, for example, only bottled). There's no restaurant on the premises, so the food options are appropriate to that condition (though, only one dessert? You can do better than that). Bottom line is that anyone living in Vegas is lucky to have this venue. My one serious complaint would be they could do a better job at booking. The bookings run more to what you might find in Palms Springs, not at Blue Note in NYC.
Second Reynold's Hall: My first visit to this venue for the Philharmonic Christmas (Holiday) Pops performance. The venue is terrific. Good sound. I was in the balcony. You are up high, very high, 5 stories. And you're looking down as much as you're out at the stage. Still, perfectly enjoyable at a bargain price. This venue is a magnificent gift to the city. It's worth coming to Vegas to do nothing more than catch a performance here.
