Rating disc golf is a lot like rating a restaurant - there are a lot of factors that go into play. With that in mind, Sims is great on certain aspects & not as great on others.
The good: The scenery at the park is phenominal. The first 4 holes play along the lake with beautiful views. You'll most likely be putting at hole 1 with only sand & water as the backdrop to the basket. Another positive is that you can really feel good about yourself leaving the course. Nearly all of the 21 holes are reachable (380 or less). Legitimate ace runs on 3 or 4 holes with a good doubles score being 13-15 under.
The bad: This is unfortunatley the best in the area. This course would be best as a secondary or even third course to come & sharpen your skills. Although it does offer a great variety of shots (hyzers, anhyzers), there is very little to no elevation & you can only get into trouble on 1 hole (19).
Everyone gathers here Monday & Thursday nights for $5 upper/lower leagues, with a little pizza gathering afterwards down at Scottys. With a great group of local talent, an above average course with beautiful views, Sims is worth checking out.
