We had heard about this place and decided to stop in on Saturday afternoon to give it a try. It is rather unassuming from the outside but when you walk in the atmosphere is great. Loved sitting at the bar with the copper stills in the background. We sampled some of the rums then ordered a few drinks. I thought the rums were uninteresting and even the spiced rum tasted infused rather than distilled that way. I'm not an expert so maybe that's how they do it, but it just seemed too "forced". In general the rums were very strong and tasted more like alcohol that flavorful rum. Not our first rum tasting so we do have a point of reference. On the bright side the cocktails were delicious.
The main reason I am writing this review though is because we were really disappointed with the service. Generally when you go to a place like this (i.e. Wiggle or all of the wineries and brew pubs in the area), the people serving you are typically passionate about their product and normally talk your ear off and make recommendations. Not the case here. Any attempt to engage in conversation was either unheard or ignored. No interaction (or eye contact) other than to take our orders and serve our drinks. It was almost like we were an imposition.
So between the "Ok" rum and the less than friendly service, I don't think we will be returning nor recommending this place to others.
