| - Good airport to connect through - much better, for example that Atlanta's airport. However, trying to leave directly from Charlotte is a horrible mess. The shuttle bus from parking takes a good 15 to 20 minutes or more depending on the day and time. Then getting through security can take an hour or more ... and to make it worse, charlotte has absolutely the rudest TSA people of any airport I have been to (and I have flown more than a million miles). They yell for no reason, and at no people in general, just generally yelling. Then they get snotty when you do not immediately snap to (they seem oblivious to the fact that some people maybe hearing impaired and cannot hear in all the confusion, yelling, and general background noise). They do not respect peoples privacy - I have seen them pull personal items out peoples bags and wave them around and say "who belongs to this" and they do not keep track of bags or people at all. I have had them argue with me that a bag was mine and it was not. Oh well. Once through, there are a few good places to eat but they are pretty much hidden in out of the way places. The so called food court, only has a couple of places to eat, and nothing exciting. The club lounges for American are pretty nice, and there are two of them in the airport ... but they do not have the food items like, say the lounge in Dallas has. I do like the rockers in the atrium ... they are nice when you can score one.
