  • When I first arrived I tried to access the front door while holding two bags by pressing the large auto door opener button several times and the door didn't opened. Tried several times.The receptionist watched me the whole time and did nothing to assist. So. I went through what I thought was a side entrance only to encounter construction. When I finally came back around to the front door the receptionist then came around her desk and opened the door ; with a grin she explained that the remote didn't work. Wow, couldn't she have signaled this fact to me the first time she saw me struggling rather than watch me struggle? I was assigned to a second floor room which was cold. Management tried but failed to provide adequate heat: citing the fact that room was very large and it was very cold out. Management was very accommodating under the circumstances and they offered to change my room but since the facts suggests that this problem was nothing new ( based on the way they handled the situation and what I learned from staff) they should have advised their patrons beforehand rather than assigning the room with the hope that they receive no complaints. Further, the bag in the room containing the extra blankets could not b opened because the zipper was stuck and the telephone message light remained blinking red the whole time even though there was No message. When I complained I was told " you don't have any messages so just don't worry about that." The bed cover was cheesy and there was no garbage can in the kitchen area. I searched all around for it too and it was not located under the sink either. They then tried to bill me for someone else's stay-slipping under my door another patron's bill even though I had been in the room for at least a day and I had to straighten that out upon departure. The breakfast- which I was finally able to enjoy on the morning of check out was fantabulous . Hence I give the additional star. A Marriott residence inn staple which is one of the reasons y I try to select this property for my out of town stays. I note that the property was under construction so maybe this was throwing everything off, including service and treatment of patrons. Nevertheless I doubt whether I'll ever stay at this marriott property again the next time I'm in Cleveland.
