| - I spent my Easter with my family at this hotel. there were fair accommodation given, we didn't plan to stay at the hotel for more than sleeping the nights anyway. I left my laptop plugged in to the outlet on the side of the bed; the narrow path was obstructed with luggage, clothing, and other crap I decided to bring with me on this trip. When we returned to the room after enjoying the beautiful state, and I was getting settled in for the night to do work, it was painfully obvious my laptop was stepped on during the changeover service. It is no longer usable. When I brought the issue to management, they suggested we weren't credible, made a poor decision, and they weren't willing to do anything. They specifically told us, "Take it up with corporate. There is nothing we will do. None of our employees would touch our customers' belongings." Clearly the action wasn't deliberate, but after the way we were treated, and after the snide remarks made by staff towards us as we were waiting to check out, The Hampton Inn hotel services will not have business in the future by my family, nor my esteemed peers and colleagues associated with Swarthmore College.
