| - In a mall packed with a cutthroat dessert contingent, Bernard Callebaut throws his two cents in, in an attempt to attract business away from Godiva, Marble Slab, Cookies by George, Bliss & Co, etc. Mall employees and patrons are positively bombarded, their sweet teeth fought over like Belgian soil a century ago! Bernard is an instantly recognized name (regardless of shady business practices a few years ago), well regarded as excellent chocolate, and the simple store reflects this: a small space (right next door to Phil & Sebastian), focused on the product. The decor is tasteful and whimsical, the shelves are neatly arranged, and the service is friendly and attentive. The chocolate itself, you've had before and you know you love it. An occasional treat is never a bad thing!
