The public transit system in Pittsburgh is developmental at best, but they have made some improvements over the past few years. This subterranean station is actually very nice. You can catch a free train across to the North Shore (stadiums, museum, casino) or go in the payment-required direction and head to points south, including Station Square.
There is a clerk on duty, vending machines to purchase passes and an entire rack of bus schedules. The station is very tidy and has exits to the various office buildings nearby. The best part is that it doesn't smell like urine!
All hail, the Steel Plaza T station!
