I was walking near the river when I noticed a sign outside Voda Spa- they were offering free pedicures with the purchase of a massage. Since my insurance covers massages, I immediately jumped on the chance to get a free pedicure. I gave them a call and booked an appointment for the end of the week.
When I showed up I was greeted by a receptionist. The decor was simple, with lots of slate and clear glass. I took off my shoes and put on spa slippers, and was taken to a waiting room. The receptionist offered tea and I accepted; I wish they had somewhere to put your hot tea cups while you wait! There are some ottomans, but it didn't really seem appropriate to put my drink on one. I appreciate that the waiting area is located away from the treatment rooms, as excess noise is one of my biggest complaints about SwizzleSticks Spa.
My pedicure went well. The esthetician did a good job, and I've been chip-free for more than a week now. The chairs were comfortable and I was told that all of their tools are autoclaved. I had a sixty-minute deep tissue massage in a room that was small but very quiet and comfortable. I had some muscle soreness and while the massage exacerbated the pain for the next two days, by the third day the tension had completely disappeared.
Overall my experience at Voda was positive, and I would return again. Check their website for information about current deals and specials (at the time of writing they have 25% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but this is surely a limited time offer). Also, remember that when you get a good deal you should still tip on the regular amount before discount!
