| - On Sunday mornings when i get my jib on to cook and don't feel like going to the "Supermarket" I head over to Masellis.
The butcher counter is stocked with pork, beef, chicken, veal and homemade sausage. I've never been dissapointed with the quality of cuts i get. I usually go for my Osso Bucco, it is reasonable in price, they constantly have sales on their T-Bones for bbq. If you love sausage try the hot ones fantastic!
The deli has house made prosciutto that is excellent, 10 slices for $2.80. Mortadella, capacollo plus other italian cuts, also the usual suspects as black forest ham, turkey et al.
They have some great import cheese., the best being the Burrata so creamy and perfect with some basil and tomato.
The produce is always fresh and they have some hard to find italian oils and vinegars. One of my favourite spices they have sits upon the butcher counter and everyone should have it in their pantry. It's a sea salt, pepper, rosemary, sage & garlic shaker of heaven. The name is Insaporitore Salamoia Bolognese,, it has a built in shaker and i put in on all meat, soups, fish & veggies. U will love it.
A family own business for years and the "boys" have really took the place up a notch and created a wonderful neighbourhood market. Not to be missed.
A huge selection of pasta adorn the back wall., and pannatones at easter and christmas are in unique boxes different from what you usually see.
