Sears has always had the very worthy distinction of serving the middle class population, from the catalogue operations for people in rural areas to the stores typically attached to malls. This Sears downtown opened with a lot of fanfare, with a lot of nice fixtures and some exclusive lines, but over the years it looks like it has decayed into a typical suburban Sears. Messy, with very little pride in products (tons of dust everywhere... a friend once told me she was looking at mugs and there was a dead bug in it!) - lots of polyester shirts in the women's section with tacky patterns. Also, a lot of markdowns, in some sort of desperate attempt to get people to shop here. So all that to say - if you are stocking up on practical items, you're sure to find it here. However, in a city where the middle class is shrinking, Sears has to step up its game.
