  • I really really enjoy Imperial Health Spa. I give it four stars because the spa's rules are not enforced. It's a real treat when there are not too many people, as it seems many aren't too familiar with the rules. I have posted a picture with the three most important ones. It's simple really. Let me walk you through it. Upon arrival you will be handed shirts, pants, a small and large towel, and waterproof keys. Women to the right and men to the left. First take off your shoes. They'll provide you with slippers if you ask. Place your street shoes in a locker. Any locker, as these do not require a key. Go to your locker and strip down to your birthday suit completely. Wrap a towel around yourself if you're conscious but at a jim jil bang it is common for everyone to be naked. No one cares how you look. Seriously. Immediately after, GO SHOWER. Please please shower before entering any of the baths. Shower after the sauna. Shower after the restroom. Shower after a massage. Shower after and before every activity, preferably. There are standing and sit-down showers. Take your pick. When using the baths (jacuzzi) you have a choice between cold, warm, or hot water. In all three you are allowed to bring in NOTHING but your body. That means NO BATHING SUITS for sanitary purposes. These rules are also posted near the baths but it seems that customers fail to read signs. Do your best to remember that this is a spa - people come to relax, so please keep quiet. There are quiet rooms, but even if not in a quiet zone it would be polite use inside voices :-) When you've had enough of saunas and jacuzzis and showers in between, put on the shirt and pants given to you in the beginning. Sure, they may not fit well. just fold up the pants at the hips a few times. Don't use your own. Again, for sanitary purposes. We don't know where your clothes have been. Once clothed go upstairs. Relax at the recliners/couches and watch television. Go into the clay ball room (bring the slippers- floors are HOT!), jade room, red clay room, ice room, or dark room temperature room. These are quiet rooms as well. While you're up there do some yoga or watch a movie. Eat at their overpriced restaurant (it's a mere $20 for all-day use of their facilities, what do you expect!). $6 bowls of instant ramen but hey if you're hungry.. Then go back downstairs and shower again. That's about all there is to it! Did I mention shower? Enjoy! 5/28/16 update: prices have risen at the restaurant. $8 for ramen?! Be sure to ask for your razors or toothbrush at the front desk before going in now. Also, bring your own CLEAN flip flops for the saunas. Again, shower and enjoy!
