| - So, this used to be the Imperial Palace, way back in the day, which was kind of sketchy and run down. Good thing I had been to Vegas so many times I knew this location was going to be good. The location would get 10 starts, it's fabulous! Walk to almost anywhere from here, except downtown (I wouldn't do that during the day let alone at night!).
So, the hotel itself was nicely upgraded, but for what it is, it was good. Upon check-in, the girl tried to 'up' sell us by telling us that the rooms are "on the smaller side" which they weren't - they were normal, even had a small refrigerator which was nice. We had a room with 2 queen beds, which were a little on the hard side, but honestly, not bad. The parking was FREE. Our room was on the back side facing that new enclosed ferris wheel ride that looks like the London Eye, it was fairly quiet (11th floor-2nd room from the end). The food choices in his hotel are not great, but adequate and like there are tons of other food choices so close, namely In N Out Burger, RIGHT there !! We could see it from our room. Check in and out was super easy. Also, the water pressure was good, some people care about that.
Also, we were there (in Vegas) to watch the AFCDCG and went looking for a sports book or sports bar to watch, as it turned out the Top Bar at The Linq, has an outside patio where we had pretty much the whole patio (small) to ourselves. It was cold, the heater thingys were out of propane and the girls who seats we took when they left said the bartender said there was nothing he could do. But actually, the did do something, I asked the bartender if he could fix it and once his replacement bar back came in, they were replaced (with a little help of the on duty managers/casino managers). It turned out to be a great place to watch the Pats put the beat down on the Texans !
So overall, it was a good place to say if you are just going to sleep there, it's centrally located to everything on the strip, there is a monorail stop there too, the monorail is $5 for one way ride and $12 for a 24 hour pass.
I would definitely stay here again.
