| - We have stayed several times at this hotel while visiting Tempe, and have had great stays. The hotel has been sold, and they no longer care. Upon checking in, we were given our room keys. When we approached the room, we were alarmed when the door was open a crack. We knocked and yelled 'hello' upon entering the room. No one was in the room bit very large industrial fans were drying the carpeting. I walked to the phone to call the front desk, and the phone didn't work. I walked to the other phone, nope, that phone didn't work either. Took our belongings and returned to the front desk. He had no idea what was going on, made some phone calls and told me he didn't have another room to give me. I returned to the room and talked with and waited on maintenance for about 20 minutes and let them know I'd feel safer if I had at least one phone that worked. I had to leave for a meeting. When I returned to the room later that evening, the fan had been removed, neither phone worked. When taking a shower, the pipes whistled very loudly the entire time, changing the water pressure and temperature did not help at all. At 'breakfast' the next morning we walked in and there were NO eggs, potatoes, coffee, yogurt, fruit, milk, or napkins. They had oatmeal packets but the hot water had coffee grounds floating in it and the waffle maker was opened up with 1/2 of the waffle stuck to the top of the maker and the other 1/2 to the bottom. We ate a muffin.
We will NOT be staying at this hotel again. They have obviously cut staff to reduce cost and lack safety and comfort is the consequence.
