I've been here twice for high tea, once in the morning and once for the twilight tea service and both times I thought that it was an underwhelming experience. The second time I went was through a Groupon offer and I felt that the quality of service had even further declined. Firstly the redemption of the Groupon off was a little cumbersome, they expected a printout and because I didn't have one they had me e-mail a screenshot to them. There was some confusion because I had marked the Groupon as redeemed.
I picked the earl gray with rose petals and it was a nice tea. The sandwiches were kind of soggy and looked like they were purchased. Cakes were purchased and tasted like the stuff you would get at a buffet. Sandwiches were not refreshed. The tea room is just small and cosy but nothing special. I feel like I would have had a better time just having tea at home. I'd be more comfortable.
