| - Pros: Centrally located in Shadyside. Spin instructors are really good (although if you have job, you'll have trouble making the times). Lots of new equipment.
Cons: The locker room is small and rarely cleaned (essentially no room to get ready for work after a morning workout, for example). The rest of the classes are all Les Mills, which you'll either hate or love, but either way -- not much variety. The handheld equipment like mats, balls, free weights, blocks, etc. are mostly old and all filthy.
Ultimately, I decided I liked Urban Active better because more classes were scheduled at more times throughout the day, and the locker rooms are big enough to get dressed in. Plus, Urban is cheaper: so you get more for less.
Worst, is the shady way in which this club does membership: if you want to cancel your membership, be prepared to get the run around. The story is long but bottom line: after a lot of "oh, she's not in today" and "oh, yes, I'm the general manager of the club but I don't know how cancellations work" they will ultimately funnel you to a business in Texas that will manage your cancellation, and you'll always have to pay for an extra month.
This club could have been good, but they skimp on the wrong things like cleanliness and customer service, and so it's not worth the price at all. Unless you live next door, I'd go elsewhere.
