| - From the moment you walk in, you can sense that this is the "real deal" and that you are in for a treat. We were greeted by David Zaltzman, the general manager, shown to a lovely table and personally assisted by him. David personifies hospitality industry professionals. Everything at this Montreal institution is top-notch and while expensive, reasonable for the quality, service, ambiance and portion size. Everything we ordered, from the caesar salad and salmon tartare to the rib eye, onion strips and grilled asparagus, was more than enough for two and maybe three diners. Don't miss the cole slaw. I have tried to buy the cole slaw in US but apparently not available. Moishes is what steak houses use to be but sadly are no more. Other than perhaps Peter Luger's in NYC, this may be the best steak house we have experienced in about 40 years. Obviously Montreal natives agree, judging from the crowds and families celebrating special occasions or just enjoying being together. Our daughter from Boston recommended it and we are so glad she did.
