I just had dinner here with my sister. Firstly, this restaurant is not in the hood. Do not let the location deter you from trying it out. The area is just fine (seriously), the parking lot is lit at night, and the interior is clean and lovely. The cuisine is strictly Sonoran - No surprises on the menu. Yet, that is not a problem. I had a basic burro and enchilada combo that was extremely good. It even came with a small iceberg lettuce salad with thousand island that tasted like the best part of a Big Mac. My sister tried the machaca chimichanga and was glad she did. She reported that it was the best she has had in years. Additionally, the salsas were very tasty and the servers were prompt and friendly. Tacos de Juarez is not out to impress its clientele with finery or funky fusion dishes. It does traditional Sonoran and it does it very well. If you are out in the downtown area, this should definitely be considered.
