| - Was craving lychee Boba when I saw the sign for this place. Did not see regular lychee on the menu, just with coconut, so I asked if they in fact had lychee with no coconut, and the lady said yes, no problem.
I thought it looked unusually milky white but it had the legitimate vacuum seal so I thought I was in for a treat. Went to shake up the Boba and the seal did not work correctly so I spilled a little and ask for a napkin. It was then that I saw the so-called "fresh fruit" she used for my Boba. It was lychee coconut jelly. Sure enough my boba tastes like coconut. :(
So they totally misrepresented their product on two counts. One, they do not use *fresh* lychee (or *canned* lychee), they use a jelly which is not even real fruit! And two, I asked for no coconut, was told there was none in my drink, but alas it had coconut!
THEN... I went back inside and told the lady "I didn't want coconut," and asked if I could please just switch it for another flavor, and she said, "no problem I fix for you." Now, I took this to mean that she actually had just plain lychee Boba and she had just made a mistake the first time. But then ...she grabbed the same container that said lychee coconut and made my drink. I stopped her and asked her if she was using lychee coconut jelly, and she looked confused, like I had caught her doing something sneaky, but then she said no there's no coconut - "I know. You no like coconut." This time I could tell it had no coconut *milk* in it, but I saw her with my own eyes make it with the jelly. And guess what? It still tastes like coconut, Lady!
Sigh. Why couldn't you just say we don't have plain lychee? I would have chosen something else with no problem... Why lie about it when you know I'm going to taste it ?! The other flavors might be fine, but based on my experience, I will not be back.
