| - Terrible facility and largely incompetent, rude staff.
I had to come to this center to pick up a package for a friend (I could not be at his house to pick it up due to my work schedule), and from the moment, I got there, the line literally did not move for over 20 minutes. They had a mere TWO people working, trying to accommodate a growing like of well over 20 customers. Not to mention most of the people were not getting anywhere who were supposedly already being helped. Two customers got on the company's 800 number and were complaining then and there. And these complaints offered a lot of cursing, much of which was justified.
My friend I was collecting the package for said that there should be no issue picking up the package as long as I had an ID and was at least 21 years of age. This is the person I was getting the package for. He even went on the UPS site to file an inquiry, stating that I would be picking up on his behalf.
When I got up, they would not give me the package because the "addresses didn't match" between my ID and my friend's house. Why the fuck would my ID have the address of SOMEONE I AM HOUSE SITTING FOR!? This is one of the worst policies I have ever encountered in any facility like this. Apparently "the customer is always right" has no meaning here. When it clearly, plain as day shows that I have permission to pick up the package on behalf of someone, there should be no issue. I could tell other people were having issues based on updated addresses and the like.
One customer complaining on the phone was yelling at the UPS agent on the other end of the 800 number, saying UPS should stand for "U Piece of Shit." No, I am not making this up. While I don't know that my complaints would go THAT far, I will not conduct further business with this facility ever again if I can help it.
