  • In all my travels around the world, experiencing different countries and cultures (and of course the important part - all the accompanying visits to foodie spots), nowhere I've gone has come anywhere close to Bartolotta's disconnect between their staff's incredible pretentiousness and their awful service as well as mediocre food. Even I can excuse some pretentiousness if the service is impeccable and the food mind-blowing (I have been to France, after all); unfortunately, Bartolotta's staff instead chooses to show unforgivable disdain for their guests by failing on all counts. There are simply far too many issues to list, but here are the lowlights: -- our party not being seated until half an hour after our reservation time, despite many empty tables all around the restaurant -- hostess accusing a party member of not adhering to dress code even though he was wearing a collared shirt; she backed off when we asked for a manager -- our apertif champagne bottle sitting lonely in ice bucket across the room even after repeated requests for a refill (apparently only at Bartolotta is the $250+ markup not for service) -- The sommelier insistently pitching me wines (all way above my stated price point) at the same time the waiter was going over the menu with the rest of my party - just totally rude (also note the markups here are far more than other Strip restaurants) -- rock lobster in the spaghetti dish was severely overcooked... cardinal sin! -- branzino, although properly served tableside, was done so slowly that the fish was basically room temp when we finally got it; also, there were many bones left in mine -- a busser twice trying to take my half-full glass of wine - what, do they get to chug it in the back if they pull this off? Frankly, the food and service at a midrange local seafood chain is better - not even to speak of real high-end seafood places. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. I wouldn't even bother eating here for free. There are just too many good places in Vegas to waste your time on Bartolotta.
