So over the past few years, I would always stay the Hyatt Regency and then walk down St. Catherines in the village. It is a bit of a hike, and I thought I would give this place a try since many of my friends have stayed there and the location is a bit more convenient. In the future, I'll stick with my usual lodgings.
Arriving at the hotel, the parking was difficult to work out (for me anyway). I waited at the garage entrance and nothing happened so I circled around and around. I finally managed to get the door to open and parked my car. Parking is NOT free, but what hotel in the city does have free parking..
Checking-in, the man at the front desk was slow and not very sociable. It became a giant ordeal that I asked if they offered currency exchange. He told me "no." but then proceeded to tell me that I could exchange a little bit. This being midnight and my friend and I wanting to go out on the town, we need SOME Canadian cash. We were able to exchange $60 and then he told us to come back in the morning when they would have more money in the drawer. The next morning I was looked at like a crazy person when I asked again to do a currency exchange. It became a big ordeal that ended with them telling us they keep 50 dollars Canadian in the building. A hotel? Really?
The room was fine. It was clean, but there was never any hot water. The hallway had great decorations of dirty toilet brushes laying about.
So anyway... keep walking. You'll find a better hotel.
