Found this place on Yelp and it was walking distance from the hotel(plus)
I saw the reviews on the shrimp and grits however I don't eat pork and they mix the ham in with the grits so some of my options were a no go. Some veggies had pork in it as well.
I do appreciate the waiter informing me about the veggies when I let them know I do not eat pork.
I got the flounder with the Mac and cheese and my friend got the chicken plate with green beans(pork in it) and mushrooms.
My meal was pretty good, the Mac and cheese was exceptionally good which is always a hit and miss.(seasoned well). My flounder was breaded and pretty good, cannot complain.
My friend first received a burned chicken breast but was quickly and happily changed for another piece. I actually tried a piece of the chicken and it was very good. I'm a fan of mushrooms but they were very salty(for my friends liking).
I also had a biscuit and my friend had the cornbread, both were good.
For dessert my friend got the coconut cake, even though they expected a bigger piece it was good. Soft and moist.
Would I come back to the Kings kitchen yes...
