| - We stopped in here for lunch, almost by accident. It ended up being a happy accident. Our original plan was to try KU Noodle, but they weren't open for lunch, so we looked at the Northside Cafe Menu and decided to go with it.
Our Server, Wesley was there to greet us almost as soon as we sat down and was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We started with The Shrimp Cocktail. A solid version of a Vegas classic. Six large, plump, sweet shrimp curled over a glass full of spicy cocktail sauce.
After our earlier Vegas Taco Fiasco at Pink Taco, I had to try Northside's Baja Fish Taco's. Spiced, Seared Mahi-Mahi, Pickled Slaw, Pico de Gallo, Cilantro and Sour Cream restored my faith in Vegas Taco possibilities. Flavorful and moist, I loved every bite! Diane had the Pork Carnitas Torta with Cotija Cheese, Charro Beans,
Jalapeño Crema, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Avocado. She loved it so much I only got one little taste of the meat. What I had was rich and spicy.
Since this was a celebratory trip for us, we had several drinks. Diane's Spiked Lemonade was Sweet, Summery and packed quite a punch! After two she was feeling a little buzzed. I started with an excellent Peach Bellini and followed that up with my favorite drink of the trip. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name, but it was a play on a Mudslide.
Northside Cafe is rarity in Vegas. A high quality, enjoyable 24 hour Casino Diner. I can't wait to go back!
