Italian deli and groceries. I stumbled upon Romanelli's through my daughter's boyfriend. His family love Italian food and have lived in the Moon Valley area for a long time. We decided to try out their subs for dinner. Their Italian bread subs were much larger than I expected. They toast it beautifully before stuffing them with meats and cheeses. You have the option of wheat and white breads as well. I decided on Italian as per recommendation of the proprietors.
The meatball sub was my favorite. The meatballs were large and juicy, smothered with cheesy goodness on crunchy toasted bread.
The Italian Stallion is lovely if you like cold cuts. It came with a variety of rich Italian meats. I am afraid I cannot name them. I would love to taste them individually the next time, but I admit that I wolfed my portion down.
The chicken Parmigiana sub was okay. I admit that I am a sucker for the freshly battered and fried then smothered sandwich. This one was not. It was a cooked breast with tomato sauce and cheese cooked concoction.
The baked ziti was rich and cheesy as well. It almost looked like lasagna. It came with a nice piece of garlic bread.
Finally, the cannoli was crispy and filled with a light, creamy filling with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. Delicious! It was a delightful meal that fed 5 people for $42.
