One of my fathers favorite places to have breakfast. El Mesquite is a bit of a drive and in the hood but anytime my dad asks if I want to join him I always say yes. The food is done well. The Mexican standards: beans, rice, chips and salsa are all tasty. I've had several items over the years from chile verde to chorizo. We really only go for breakfast so I can comment on the other items. But nothing I've ever ordered has been off the mark. The stand out for me are the tortillas and especially the horchata. It has to be the best non homemade horchata I've ever tasted. Executed perfectly. I would definitely go here more often and for more meals if it werent so far from home.
